Die Fähre im Morgenlicht |
|
In the summer 1807, Queen Luise almost every day has gone here with her important spouse, often accompanied by the royal children. They drank tea or enjoyed a dinner, namely under that oak, which spread its branches far across the place at that time. And this oak still seems to be willing to withstand all weathers for many years, even though it lacks its lower branches already. The "Oberhofmeisterin" of Queen Luise, the Countess Voss, writes July 19th, 1807 into her diary*: » Had dinner in Tauerlauken, as always. And gone for a walk under the trees, long time into the night.« On July 26th: »The Majesties *) "Neunundsechzig Jahre am Preussischen Hof." Aus Erinnerungen der Oberhofmeisterin Sophie Marie Gräfin von Voss. |
